On behalf of the FDFJFS committee we would like
to extend a warm welcome to the four new clubs this
season (BayPoint Juniors FC, Margate Galactico, Sittingbourne Youngboys & St
Margarets) and thank all our existing member clubs for their
continued support to The Series.
Our aims are to provide a structured mini
soccer league for Young People to play based on the
element of friendly activity where winning is enjoyable,
playing is of more importance but the enjoyment of the
‘beautiful game’ is the paramount.
This aim applies equally to parents,
organisers, spectators and officials, as well as the
young people participating. It should never be forgotten
why the ‘Series’ is run! We are not, nor boast to be the
Premiership however, we aspire to be a family of local
clubs and organisations who believe in the enjoyment of
young people engaging in a sporting activity played in
an environment free from discrimination and in safe
conditions.
In contrast to other Associations and the
negative outlook generally portrayed regarding
participation in football, we continue to grow both in
terms of numbers and status and for season 2012-13 we
now administer for 6 age groups (7's, 8's, 9's, 10's,
11's &
12/13's) encompassing over 65, 7 & 9-a-side teams for
over 650 children.
F&DFJFS thank Dawes Hernhill Herons
The F&DFJFS Series would like to thank Dawes Hernhill Herons FC for their hospitality and use of facilities, at the end of season 2011-12. In total 4 Cup Finals and 4 Invitational Cups were played at The Association Playing Fields, Hernhill,
during May 2012.
I know that feedback from parents and coaches expressed thanks to the Hernhill working party, for all their hard work in making this final such a memorable day.
The Series would also like to thank the dedicated referees, most of whom are parent volunteers,
who encourage and support the children throughout the season.
Without these volunteers, we would have no structured league football.
